Start 13.00, klart 15.30.

Tuesday 24/5

13.00 - 13.30 Products of Tomorrow
What will happen when you let a designer in to the laboratory? Tomorrow Machine combines the knowledge of scientists and the creativity of designers, in order to use the full potential of the new material and create the sustainable products of tomorrow - today.
Founder of Tomorrow Machine Anna Glansén will talk about the importance of using your material in a creative product and what happens when you show that product to the world.

13.30 - 14.00 A journey towards fossil free packaging
Biodolomer from GAIA is a new material that is both renewable and can be used for producing bio energy (bio gas). Learn more as Åke Rosén from GAIA Biomaterials explains how this bio material is ready to replace 80% of all fossil based plastics.

14.00-14.30 Demonstrating and visualizing innovation with design
Rasmus Malbert, designer and materialist, is working as a design consultant with material innovations from the bio sphere. Through participatory design process and a creative craft approach, he unveils material potential and seek to inspire for industrial development of materials from the bio sphere. Rasmus will uncover the design processes behind some of his projects and show examples of demonstrators for cellulose based materials.

14.30-15.00 Design as enabler for forest based materials
Design can act as enabler and bridge between the lab and commercial production of new forest based materials. At the university of Gävle we are starting up a test bed called Bioverkstaden with focus on this. To illustrate the possibilities of this test bed, examples from a design research project and some student projects will be presented by Ann-Sofie Hartzén, PhD student in Design.

15.00-15.30 Demonstrator for a wood based material, a student project
2:nd year students of Industrial Design at the University of Gävle presents their projects where they through material driven design and tinkering with materials have developed demonstrators for a range of different forest based materials. The demonstrators are also is at display at Materialbiblioteket during this event.
